Clever Devices SME - CAD AVL Integration Lead
CAD AVL Integration Director Transit Authority seeks Clever Devices SME POSITION PURPOSE: The Computer Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Locator (CAD/AVL) Integration Specialist will serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) throughout the entire lifecycle of the CAD/AVL installation and implementation project. This position will provide critical support to the Project Management Office (PMO) during the project and will ensure the distribution of key deliverables and milestones outlined. Additionally, this position will collaborate closely with various departments to facilitate a seamless installation and integration of the new CAD/AVL systems, while simultaneously overseeing the migration from an Analog Radio Communication System to the County-wide P25 Communication System. This dual effort will require expertise in both systems to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Technical Review and Vendor Deliverables Coordination - Review and assess vendor technical documentation, system architecture, interface specifications, and deliverables for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements. - Ensure alignment of system drawings, CAD/AVL requirements, and technical solutions with agency standards and industry best practices. - Validate system configurations, software updates, integration points, and deliverables before implementation, identifying risks or discrepancies and providing recommendations to the Project Manager. - Track vendor milestones, dependencies and document technical correspondence, highlighting concerns or potential issues related to feasibility or compliance. - Review all CAD/AVL, vehicle telematics, and P25 radio communication system requirements and specifications. - Review all technical correspondence from CAD/AVL, vehicle telematics, and P25 radio communication vendors. - Review all drawings and submittals from vendors for accuracy and contract compliance. - Work with PMO to ensure project schedules are maintained and delivered in accordance with outlined requirements. - Manage the integration of vehicle telematics with CAD/AVL systems to enhance fleet performance monitoring, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency. - Monitor and analyze telematics data to optimize fleet operations, reduce fuel consumption, and improve driver safety. Multi-System Integration and Implementation Support: - Review integration requirements and confirm compatibility between CAD/AVL systems and other agency platforms (radio communication, fare collection, real-time data, etc.). - Coordinate with IT, operations, maintenance, and planning teams to ensure system alignment, data consistency, and cybersecurity standards. - Ensure smooth data exchange and system interactions across platforms, addressing any conflicts or integration challenges. - Troubleshoot integration issues and escalate to the Project Manager when needed, supporting the deployment process and addressing system discrepancies. System Testing and Support - Oversee integration testing for all CAD/AVL related systems (e.g., radio, fare collection, real-time data), ensuring proper validation and interoperability. - Conduct end-to-end testing, performance validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT), working with relevant teams to resolve issues. - Monitor system performance, flagging integration failures, data inconsistencies, and operational issues for resolution. - Collaborate with PMO and IT teams on scheduling, data reporting, and platform integration, identifying potential technical issues and recommending solutions to the Project Manager. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: - Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the project and organizational goals. - Provide technical support for troubleshooting and system testing to resolve issues that may arise during the installation, implementation, or migration phases. - Assist in the development and delivery of training materials and sessions for end-users, ensuring they are fully equipped to operate both the new CAD/AVL and P25 radio communication systems effectively. REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in a Technical Field, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. - An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications. - Technical expertise in CAD/AVL systems, including multi-system integration, county radio communications, and software testing. - Experience with system integration between CAD/AVL platforms, fare collection, county radio communications, and real-time passenger information, - Experience coordinating with vendors, IT teams, maintenance, operations, finance and planning teams to support implementation and troubleshooting efforts. - Preferred experience in transit-specific software platforms. Machines, Tools, & Equipment Used: - Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems, as well as a computer for both data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Florida drivers license or be able to obtain one within 10 days of hire or moving to the State of Florida. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Familiarity with system integration principles, including API interactions, and data exchangesbetween platforms. - Understanding of CAD/AVL technologies, communications, and multi-system integration. - Ability to interpret and review technical documents, schematics, and software configurations to ensure accuracy and contract compliance. - Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both in writing and verbally. - Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders. - Ability to work in a timely fashion on multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions. - Ability to manage tasks and prioritize work efficiently and to meet deadlines. Strong analytical/problem solving ability, particularly in system troubleshooting, data validation,and integration testing. - Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements. - Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic project environment, ensuring effective collaborationacross multiple teams. - Standard office practices, procedures and equipment.
