What You Will Do:
Charged with overall account growth and client satisfaction, this role of Account Director requires an initiative-taking, driven professional with strong sales and business acumen, a proven track record of success in complex solution selling, professional services experience, a solid understanding of utility business operations, and passion for execution and delivery excellence.
Responsibilities Include:
Drive growth and client satisfaction in Guidehouse’s Energy Providers Practice through crafting, selling, and overseeing delivery of strategic advisory, technology, and risk management consulting engagements, with a primary focus on Investor-Owned UtilitiesSupport Guidehouse’s Energy Providers Practice in the following ways:Developing/expanding long-term client relationships with key accounts in the South and Mid-Atlantic region that lead to repeat business, and meeting and exceeding annual sales targetsLeading the pursuit and closure of new consulting engagementsBuilding deep trusted advisor relationships with key client stakeholdersCollaborating with senior consulting professionals in our delivery and solutions teams across Guidehouse to cross-sell a broader range of Guidehouse offerings to our Energy Provider clientsImprove client business performance through benchmarking, process improvement, performance metrics, operating risk assessment, and implementation of continuous improvement principles for clients, including:Assessing and guiding the business process and organizational changes required to improve organizational effectivenessBuilding results-oriented business processes, developing and implementing long- and short-term strategies, and transition business models for clientsProviding oversight to project assignments, including development of team, building the work plan, directing and coordinating technical contributions, and overseeing budget and scheduleContribute strategic industry and subject matter expertise, and thought leadership on project assignmentsProvide coaching and mentoring to junior staffManage all aspects of client relationships and oversight of engagement deliveryWhat You Will Need:
US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident status (due to the nature of client engagements)Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related disciplineTen (10+ ) plus years' work experience in professional services for utilities or a management consulting firm servicing commercial energy providers /investor owned utilities. Internships, co-ops, fellowships, graduate research not counted towards the years of experience. Experience in healthcare, telecommunications, banking , or financial sector are not applicable for this roleSignificant energy and utility business experience with a deep background in the utility industry, with a specific depth in one or more of the following: customer programs, market structure, asset management, T&D and resiliency, climate change, regulatory, decarbonization, utilities IT/OT, enterprise technologiesDemonstrated Executive / C-level relationships with energy and utility clients and the ability to develop and maintain long-term relationshipsDemonstrable experience leading business development initiatives (writing proposals, identifying opportunities to expand the scope, and/or providing additional services) and managing account teams (developing and implementing an account plan and leading account team activities)Full lifecycle solution experience, including strategy, planning, design, implementation (including technology implementation), and operationsReviewing and at times preparing and delivering reports, presentations and other documents for client deliverablesExcellent communication skills and people skillsHigh degree of self-confidence and determinationAdvanced organizational and management skillsAbility to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities and assignments without diminished effectivenessAbility to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organizationProficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation softwareAbility to travel up to 75% as neededAbility to work individually, as part of a team, or leading a teamMust currently reside or ability to relocate in the South or Mid-Atlantic US region (key Guidehouse offices in Atlanta, GA, Washington, DC Metro area, and Charlotte, NC)
