Client Account Manager - Transportation
As a Client Account Manager (CAM) you will impact strategic business relationships with key clients to ensure that Jacobs has a sustained relationship to achieve complete client satisfaction fully leveraging the relationship to mutually benefit the clients and the firm. Working with members of our team, your focus is to make sure that Jacobs is the client’s firm-of-choice, and that the company has a thorough understanding of the client’s needs and is seen as their best advocate for accomplishing their goals. In this role, you will: • Lead municipal and state government transportation client accounts in coordination with pursuit teams around a common vision of success. We’ll look to you to represent Jacobs to the client in a positive, caring, solutions-delivery approach by engaging the broader firm. • Serve as the point of contact for transportation client service activities and develop strategies to grow Jacobs’ transportation business. • Working with the Chicago Operations & Market Growth Leader, secure management commitment and influence/attract key staff for pursuits while advocating on the client's behalf. Actively engage the firm to address client needs and recommend strategic actions to optimize business development investment and market share growth. • Engage directly with clients and provide them with guidance and support in the scope and priorities of their capital program. • Facilitate creation of deep, personal, valuable client relationships between Jacob’s personnel and client personnel (management, technical, functional, delivery) to weave a fabric of broad-based relationships between our firm and the clients. • Commit to a robust external engagement strategy (attend industry meetings, events, conferences, etc.) to foster client relationships and build partnerships with associated firms to maximize growth. • Represent Jacobs on relevant industry & association boards, committees, event coordination, etc. As a Jacobs leader, you are empowered to develop trust and credibility with clients by engaging in business discussions to formulate winning and portfolio diversification solutions. You will coach client service teams by coordinating and facilitating Go/No Go and Bid/No Bid decisions and helping to develop required sales costs aligned with opportunity potential and return on investment objectives. Regularly you’ll actively engage with your Client Account Strategist and client service teams by leading them through the disciplined sales process including developing the win strategy, proposal document, interviews and presentations. • Bachelor’s Degree in business, sales, marketing, communications, planning, civil engineering or related field • Substantial business development experience in the engineering and/or professional services and consulting industry, including proven client development skills • Ability to identify and expand solutions and services provided to existing clients • Ability to strategically coordinate with other CAMs on regional pursuits • Proven track record of coordinating teams and winning work in an area or statewide basis • Sales knowledge on how to identify contracts well in advance, respond to RFPs/solicitations, interview, and win new work • Strong business acumen and effective communication skills • Capability to negotiate with and influence others • Substantial transportation and/or infrastructure experience • Ability to lead an account team, set a vision and strategy, coach/mentor and motivate the team, reach within Jacobs to offer best-in-class solutions, manage commercial and legal negotiations, and close deals • Relationships with clients and teaming partners in Chicagoland/Illinois, including executive level connections #LI-LM1236 Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
