Client Accounting Manager
**Job Title** Client Accounting Manager **Job Description Summary** Provide leadership and supervision to accounting team members, and support operations and clients through the use of sound judgment and discretion in applying accounting principles to day-to-day processes and functions. Assess team and department efficiencies to make improvement recommendations where necessary; lead with a collaborative and team minded approach promoting an inclusive environment. **Job Description** Essential Job Duties: • Direct new business onboarding by coordinating with property management and clients on varying applicable areas; set up bank accounts, accounting software, load prior balances or closing statements, provide guidance to accounting team in review of Property Management Agreements for billable services and fees. • Monitor team performance, available capacity, and training needs through conducting one-on-one meetings, team meetings and addressing deficiencies timely and professionally, including review and approval of accountant entered time to ensure accuracy. • Track team compliance with department SOC 1 audit controls; approve banking or financial transactions, schedules and reports in accordance with the SOC Policies and Procedures manual and training, escalate and engage internal support teams to protect the interests of the firm and our clients, as needed. • Review team members' financial reports to ensure quality, timeliness, audit compliance, and assess competencies; exercises professional judgement and skepticism in an effort to mitigate or detect fraudulent activity. • Monitor team and/or market-wide requirements of timely tax and other critical payments, revenue entries and accounting performance, time tracking, and corporate aging follow up. • Oversee a market, strategic and/or key client(s); develop productive, supportive relationships with market city leads, strategic clients, key clients and internal stakeholders. • Assess team/department workflows and policies to recommend or implement improvements in operating efficiencies and effectiveness. • Develop direct reports (as applicable) through goal setting, conducting mid-year and year-end performance reviews and delivering timely and meaningful performance feedback, while maintaining quality results and performance. • Lead departmental projects and/or assume a leadership role on one of the Client Accounting Committees. • Performs other related duties as required or requested.
