Client Director, Integrated Healthcare Communications

We are looking for a healthcare communicator practitioner to join the Health team in our Singapore office and manage public relations strategies. This role will also entail integrated communications work, involving experts from creative, social/digital, production, research and public affairs teams. The role is a combination of strategic planning, client relationship management, team leadership and collaboration, industry interest/expertise underscored by a curiosity in science.
This role will report into the Head of Health. The Client Director will need to be a commercially astute, comfortable with ambiguity, operate with a degree of urgency, and be a team-oriented individual who takes a customer centric approach to their work ensuring quality delivery against client briefs and the Edelman values.

ResponsibilitiesCurious communicator with a strong interest in science and health; a strong understanding of/or experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry is ideal.General awareness of the regulatory guidelines for healthcare communications in Singapore. Familiar with best-practice integrated marketing communications approach. Understands clients’ businesses and their missions, as well as their key stakeholders: consumers, employees, regulators, media, third party and advocacy groups. Drive the development of integrated communication proposals, plans, and presentations and demonstrates writing excellence when crafting internal and client correspondence, communications plans, press materials, new business proposals, etc.Experience in managing client relationships across multiple accounts, finance and budget knowledge. Grow account organically and through lead generation/ prospecting by introducing clients to relevant Edelman capabilities, including resources outside of the group, to advance their business goals.Initiate new business processes, including identifying new business opportunities and helping lead the RFP response process. Lead and oversee multiple medium to large client relationships and projects by proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing junior members of the team, and ensuring deadlines are met.Strong media relationships with Singapore and Singapore-based media. Regional media relationships are a plusTrack and monitor project financials (e.g., budget vs. actual) and meet revenue targets.Grow a network of industry clients and participates in relevant professional organizations and networking activities that will grow Edelman’s brand recognition and own reputation.Display strong presentation skills; Confidently contribute to the health team and be a part of a growing portfolio. Mentor, coach, and support team members and ensure they are developing skills and abilities through Edelman Learning Institute and other training, including on-the-job training.RequirementsAt least 11 years of relevant experience in communications and/or related fields, such as healthcare communications marketing, clinical or teaching, research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing.Superior writing and verbal communications skills, specifically to write to persuade; demonstrated ability to effectively multitask, delegate and manage assignments and accurately evaluate and support other team members. Understanding of sector trends, with a focus on Singapore, and the broader Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific region. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
