Who we are looking for

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is seeking a motivated Client Onboarding / Sales Support Associate to work within the UK Intermediary sales team (Client Coverage Group) engaging with wealth managers, platforms and other intermediary clients. The role holder must meet the criteria for an FCA Certified Role.

The Client Onboarding / Sales Support Associate within SSGA’s UK Intermediary business, will manage the end-to-end client onboarding and restructuring for strategic client relationships. Strong engagement and coordination with the relevant stakeholders is key to success for this role. Once a deal is won or an existing client has initiated a restructuring exercise, the Onboarding Management will take full responsibility for the end-to-end strategy implementation for the client. You must also build strong relationships across the broader EMEA Client Coverage Group (CCG) Organization, Investments, Operations, Legal, Compliance and other internal teams critical to the end-to-end client strategy implementations. You’ll also be responsible for handling client queries and questionnaires.

To be successful, you will need to develop a thorough understanding of SSGA’s Operating model, Investment capabilities as well as our breadth of service offerings in the EMEA region. As SSGA invests in technology you will be immersed in our efforts toward automation, efficiencies and creative thinking to achieve better ways of interacting with our clients and each other. You will also partner with your colleagues in other regions and across our institutional client coverage group to ensure global consistency in our processes and to continuously improve the overall experience of our clients.

This role is part of the Client Coverage Group and you will report to the Head of Intermediary Client Coverage – UK in London.

What you will be responsible for

Take full ownership of concurrent client onboarding and restructuring events focusing on delivering a positive experience by meeting and exceeding client expectations

Work directly with clients, platforms and other external stakeholders to successfully guide each deal through KYC, contracting, fund/account setup, and funding

Cultivate positive relationships with internal partners including sales executives, the institutional onboarding team, Legal, Operations, KYC, Portfolio Management, and Billing, encouraging collaboration and positive onboarding event outcomes

Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives across the department

Keep a diligent awareness of business risk and ownership of issues when they arise

Developing and maintaining productive working relationships and managing the communication with day to day contacts, and other stakeholders

Preparing project and quality plans and tracking activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.

Support identification and tracking of project risks, actions, issues and dependencies

Responding to client queries and handling client questionnaires

Proven history of project experience, successfully managing implementation projects

Experience working as a Project Manager within the asset management industry, using project methodology

Experience working with offshore centres

First Degree or equivalent.

Formal certification from a recognized professional body (e.g. Prince & or PMI) preferable

FCA certification and consistently keeping knowledge and competencies appropriate for future annual certifications

High Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Understanding of Salesforce and Appian a plus

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required CFA a plus

Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in the investment management industry
