What you’ll be doing
As the Client Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income you will be responsible for the commercialization of CIBC Asset Management’s (CAM) Fixed Income business, effectively developing and maintaining thought leadership and client relationships in Canada and globally with a particular emphasis on elevating CIBC Asset Management’s distribution expertise to deliver a highly saleable and scalable Fixed Income portfolio management suite of solutions. The role reports to the ED & Head of the Client Portfolio Management team.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. Client interaction and travel will be required.

Willingly taking on the “hands on” work required given the comparatively flat nature of the organization. Being accustomed to working in a matrixed environment where knowledge, talent and resources reside in multiple locations.
Collaborate - with a variety of colleagues across the firm and enterprise, such as: clients & prospects across the enterprise – mutual funds, high net worth, broker-dealer, commercial, and institutional clients and consultants; Global distribution teams servicing institutional, high net worth, advisor, and bank clients; International staff and relevant relations with partner asset management firms; Other CPMs, members in Fixed Income, Equity, Sustainable Investment and Currency & Multi Asset Management; Portfolio Management & Research Team; Product Development Team; Operations Management and Investment Services; Legal and Compliance, HR, Technology & Global Operations partners.
Who you are
You demonstrate a deep understanding of fixed income topics and can act as a subject matter expert on fixed income strategy design and management – most likely from an independent asset manager, the asset management business of a bank or insurance company, or an investment consulting firm with organizations respected for their products, market penetration, strong sales efforts, and client service. It’s an asset if you have Portfolio Management experience and business development leadership and management.
You have a degree in Business, Finance and/or Economics.
You are a certified professional. It’s an asset if you are a CFA charter holder.
You can demonstrate experience in the investment business. You have experience presenting to clients, in sales processes, and with high performance content and communication for clients, advisors and prospects.
It’s an asset if you’re fluent in French.
You have registration with Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) as Advising Representative.
