KeyBank is looking for an experienced and motivated professional to join our Enterprise Fraud Services (EFS) Client Protection Team, as we seek to deliver industry leading scam prevention, detection, and mitigation services that enable safer banking interactions for all clients.
As the Data & BI Senior Associate on the Client Protection team, you will be responsible for discovering emerging trends with scams and money mule activity, developing actionable insights and detection strategies, and deploying effective controls to protect our clients, minimize risks, and improve efficiencies. To accomplish this, you will conduct detailed analysis of scam and money mule activity using advanced analytics, surfacing insights to inform policy, technology, and procedure change, and driving detection strategy improvements. You will also develop comprehensive reporting on scam and money mule detection performance, strategy effectiveness, and other KPI’s/KRI’s/metrics. Further, you will participate with internal and external partners to drive various other analytics projects forward to enable the business to grow, processes to be improved, teammates to be supported, and technology changes to be deployed, all which help strengthen the trust our clients have in KeyBank.
Job Responsibilities:
Discover scams and mule activity by extracting data and performing complex analysis on large transactional and behavioral data sets. Develop reporting to measure and monitor scam and money mule KPI’s, KRI’s, and related metrics. Develop automation to increase efficiencies and reduce variation to maximize impact. Develop effective proposals to communicate findings and potential solutions to leadership. Develop strong relationships, collaborating with teammates inside EFS as well as stakeholders outside EFS, or external to KeyBank to provide analytical insights and solutions for projects, technology changes, and other critical initiatives. Deploy new and optimize existing strategies to mitigate scam and money mule activity and improve the client experience. Understand existing fraud/scam typologies and tactics used to perpetrate these crimes and stay up to date on emerging trends and threats with a specific focus on scams and money mules.
Desired Skills:
Experience working in a financial institution and familiarity with related laws and regulations including Reg E, Reg CC, UDAAP, FACTA, and Reg Z. Experience supporting client behavior analytics, fraud prevention, or financial service operations. Master’s degree in applied mathematics, analytics, or similar field of study. Experience with Google Cloud Platform, SQL Server, Python, or R
Required qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience developing analytical solutions to business problems. Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Criminal Justice or similar field of study. 4 additional years of advanced analytics experience acceptable in lieu of degree. Advanced skills with SQL, SAS, Excel, Visualization (Tableau preferred), and statistical modeling techniques. Ability to work independently, effectively juggle competing priorities, and quickly adapt to change. Ability to used advanced analytics to creatively identify simple solutions to complex problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences throughout all levels of an organization.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $115,000 to $125,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
