Client Service Representative/Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Client Service Representative/Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

Why We Need You
As the face of VCA, the Client Service Representative sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities.   The CSR is the pivot around which the hospital operates and is responsible for:
• Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
• Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions, pet insurance, and CareClub.
• Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
• Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside.

As a Veterinary Assistant, your primary responsibility is to ensure our Veterinarians can provide the gold standard of care efficiently while you provide a comfortable and safe environment for our patients.

Some Veterinary Assistant responsibilities are:

Excellent customer service

Work as a team with other assistants/technicians/csr to ensure all tasks get completed in a timely manner

Greet clients and pet

Determine the reason for visit, take history and weight and record in electronic medical record

Set out supplies needed for the visit

Physically restrain patient for exam. 

Clean

Prepare samples for the outside lab

Perform In-House bloodwork

Call clients if requested by doctor

Handle deceased patients

Account for all drugs/supplies leaving the pharmacy

Accurately set up medications as per Doctor

Upkeep and cleanliness of hospital and patient husbandry both indoors and outdoors

*Rate of pay determined based on experience.

***Mandatory - Saturday shift, evening shift until 8pm, and reliable transportation both during normal hours and inclement weather***
