Client Tax Manager III - Vice President

As a Client Tax Manager III - Vice President within the Client Tax Operations team supporting the Consumer & Investment Bank (CIB) as well as Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) division, you will be responsible for managing the year-end project for tax reporting, including Forms 1098, 1099, and 1042 across various lines of business such as lending, card, mortgage, auto, and business banking.  You will also service customer inquiries related to tax operations.

Job responsibilities

Lead and manage the year-end tax reporting project, ensuring timely and accurate issuance of Forms 1098, 1099, and 1042 Oversee tax operations across multiple lines of business, including lending, card, mortgage, auto, and business banking within CIB & CCB Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, legal, and technology teams, to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies Develop and implement strategies to improve tax reporting processes and enhance operational efficiency Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to tax reporting, providing exceptional service, and resolving issues promptly Monitor and analyze tax reporting data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status of tax operations and year-end projects Manage and mentor a team of tax operations professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field  8+ years of experience in tax operations, with a focus on year-end tax reporting (Forms 1098, 1099, and 1042) Proven experience in managing large-scale tax reporting projects within a financial services environment High-level knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders Proficiency in tax reporting software and financial systems Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) is preferred
