Summary:
The Clinical Practice Corporate Educator in Mental Health and Violence Prevention is at the forefront as they optimize the use of real time data, predictive analytics and professional expertise to continuously improve quality and safety of the Catholic Health (CH) organization. Through their ability to lead, consult and educate health professionals in accordance with legal, regulatory, professional standards, policies and practice guidelines with a primary focus on achieving excellence in patient care by being a high reliability Health. This educational position will support CH hospitals in mental health crises and workplace violence. The Clinical Practice Corporate Educator is accountable for the education development, execution and monitoring of CH Violence Prevention Strategy.
CH Lead facilitates and supports continuous learning, professional development, and service excellence through education, coaching and mentoring of Staff, Physicians and Volunteers. Reporting to the VP of Clinical Education, Research and Professional Development the Clinical Practice Corporate Educator provides leadership and expertise to support quality excellence by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs related to Mental Health and Violence Prevention. The leadership and expertise this position will provide will support quality excellence and safe environment in the development and delivery of training programs for hospital staff on topics such as; mental health crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and workplace violence.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
+ Current New York State RN License
+ MSN, MS in Education or related field preferred
+ BSN and must obtain a Master's degree within three (3) years of hire
+ BLS Provider
+ ACLS within one (1) year
+ Instructor certification in some form of de-escalation/mitigation behavior training (i.e. TRUST, Crisis Prevention Institute, AVADE, etc.) preferred
EXPERIENCE
+ Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience required
+ Minimum of three (3) years of relevant staff education work experience within an Acute Healthcare or academic setting required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
+ Strong experience in learning assessment, curriculum development and program evaluation
+ Knowledge and skilled in a variety of health & safety topics and training
+ Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
+ Solid PC skills utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel software applications
+ Ability to travel between the various CH sites; occasional weekend and evening work schedules required
+ Carry equipment/supplies from one facility to another
