Clinic Administrative Support

Greet all customers.  Answer telephones, transfer calls appropriately and take accurate messages.  Maintain patient flow. Provide cooperative and courteous service to all customers, both internal and external.  Keeps family and friends informed in the waiting room.  Pre- register and Register patients accurately and efficiently.  Review patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy and counsel patients on financial policy and commitments.  Assist with any questions or concerns from internal and external customers. Assist patients to understand and sign all necessary business forms prior to surgery.  Collect patient payments and be custodian for daily cash collections with accurate accounting.  Prepare new and existing patient charts for surgery.  Assists with organization and scanning of paper patient medical record into EMR.  Verify compliance with insurance carrier requirements. Assists with correlating diagnosis code with procedure code, and ensures compliance is met and documented for all surgical procedures. When necessary assists OMH Billing department with coding surgical/anesthesia procedures based on the documented information using ICD 9/10, CPT and HCPCS codes.  Assist OMH Billing Department with entering all relevant patient charges into the system accurately.  Work with Business Office to research and resolve all rejected claims. Maintain complete and accurate documentation. Support co-workers in a team environment.
