Oversees the work of clinic personnel. Examples of Duties + Responsible for administering nursing care and prescribed treatment to patients. + Obtains medical histories from patients and/or patient records. + Prepares patients for examinations and treatments. + Assists physicians performing examinations. + Collects blood, urine and other specimens and cultures required as routine clinic procedures. + Performs routine clinic assessments, including height and weight measurements, blood pressure and temperature. + Observes and reports reactions and changes in the physical condition of patients. + Makes entries on patients’ records. + Reviews doctor’s orders and administers prescribed nursing treatment and immunizations. + Reviews and audits patients’ charts. + Implements defined treatment plans and coordinates them with other health plans designed for the patient. + Explains side effects of prescribed medications to patients. + Evaluates patients to determine need for treatment. + Instructs patients and their families on preventive measures to attain and maintain physical health. + Conducts and/or participates in various special health programs. + Assists with in-service training programs. + Gives instructions to and oversees the work of auxiliary clinic personnel. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Preferably one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.
