**Description:**
Radiology Technologist will provide digital diagnostic radiographs for the radiologist to over-read. Must perform imaging procedures in accordance with established facility, state, and federal guidelines.
This position serves the Kimball Ridge Center Clinic location in Waterloo. You will work one 9-hour day a week and fill in for all time off and illnesses. General x-rays only, no other modalities. We have a new digital room. You will work in the same area as our lab department.
1. Takes radiographic exposures appropriate to procedure.
• Sets up technique appropriate to patient (i.e., weight, thickness, age, medical condition).
• Utilizes independent judgment to obtain optimal images.(i.e. patient condition, pathology that dictates other than standard images.)
• Performs all diagnostic, fluoroscopic and portable procedures according to protocol to produce a quality examination.
2. Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedure.
• Warms up and checks functionality of equipment before first patient arrives.
• Performs and documents quality control procedures in accordance to policy.
• Communicates and documents equipment malfunctions.
• Ensures room is clean and orderly.
• Ensures needed medical devices are available.
• Ensures patient is gowned appropriately for particular procedure.
3. Collects history data from patient and provides patient education.
4. Provides patient care in accordance with department policies.
5. Provides the radiologist with a good digital image and the appropriate information need to read the image.
6. Will work on infant to geriatric patients.
7. Adheres to all safety procedures and infection control.
8. Other duties as needed.
