POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Affiliate serves as a physician extender in coordinating patient care for a specific clinical specialty. Serves as an integral member of the patient care delivery team, accepting individual responsibility for providing excellent service and quality patient care.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Serves as physician extender in coordinating acute care workload for the physician.
2. Completes nursing assessment on assigned physician workload.
3. Organizes documentation to meet physician, nursing and organizational policies and procedures.
4. Gathers patient data from all disciplines to improve operational efficiencies of care delivery.
5. Assists patient care providers with physician access in caring for the patients.
6. Works in a collaborative fashion with all providers in the acute care setting.
7. Maintains responsibility of competency and licensure requirements.
8. Follows all professional practice standards, regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures, medical staff by-laws in the delivery of care.
9. Participates in quality review and research initiatives as applicable.
10. Communicates in an effective and professional manner with all members of multidisciplinary team.
11. Provides patient education for their specialty and documents accordingly.
12. Provides excellence in customer service through communication with all members of health care team. Completes service recovery as appropriate.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate degree
Skills:
Must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment towards achieving customer satisfaction.
Must be able to understand directions (written and verbal), communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.
Must be able to demonstrate good judgement in a fast-paced environment.
Years of Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of nursing experience in the specialty of the position.
License: Must be a registered nurse and licensed to practice in the State of Ohio. Certification: Must be CPR certified.
