Clinical Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Assistant will support the Clinical Revenue Cycle team of Genetic Counselors by collecting follow-up data, serving as a liaison between other departments, assisting with administrative tasks and aiding in billing projects. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with data collection for internal projects Organizes documentation and manages spreadsheets Participates in team meetings Reviews cases and gathers appropriate clinical documentation  Utilizes templates, clinical data and documentation to build appropriate cases for appeals Update internal databases regarding case development progress Provide administrative support to different teams as needed Assist genetic counselors with ad hoc projects, and provide support to internal stakeholders as needed Aid in the development of SOPs and best practices for necessary projects This role works with PHI on a regular basis, both in paper and electronic form, and will have access to various technologies in order to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job. Employees must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire. Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements. Performs other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma required BA/BS in biology, allied health, or a science related field is strongly preferred. 2+ years in a professional work environment 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Experience with Microsoft Excel, Google mail and Google Documents Excellent organization and attention to detail Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to follow instructions and perform duties in a remote setting

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.Austin, TX$19—$22 USD
