Job Title: Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor & Clinical Director, PA Program Campus: Florham Campus, Madison, NJ Department: School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences-Florham Hiring Manager: Chadwin Sandifer Hiring Manager Title: Executive Associate Dean College: Position Type: Faculty Grade: Faculty FLSA: Exempt Faculty Rank: Assistant Professor Salary: Commensurate with Experience Status: Full-Time Months Worked: 12 Month Job Summary: Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor & Clinical Director, Physician Assistant Program will develop, maintain, and ensure adequacy and quality of clinical placement sites and will ensure that clinical sites meet the ARC-PA standards. In addition, the Director of Clinical Education will monitor and evaluate student clinical performance at the sites. The responsibilities of this position include assisting in the accreditation efforts for the physician assistant program, working with the Program Director and the surrounding health care community to develop and establish relationships for assurance of student placements at sites providing quality clinical education across the lifespan. Working with the clinical coordinator, the Clinical Director will lead the development of sites and implementation of a comprehensive plan for quality assurance. The incumbent has primary oversight for the supervised clinical practice experience component of the program. The development of student practice courses, guidelines for professional behavior, implementation of a database management system, site quality, student advising, and coordination of all related activities are the primary responsibility of the Director. This position, non-tenured and at the rank of clinical assistant or associate professor, serves as a direct report to the Program Director. The incumbent will receive academic rank as appropriate.

Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years clinical and/or teaching experience, 5 years preferred.

2. Masters degree (MS, MPA, MPH), Doctoral degree (preferred).

3. Minimum 3 years of experience in medical of PA education.

4. Knowledge of the physician assistant program accreditation process and familiarity with the details of experiential education and site establishment within the healthcare community.

5. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and fostering empirical research.

6. Interpersonal skills to build and manage partnerships inside and outside the program in physician assistant studies, the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and University-at-large.

7. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
