Posting Details Job Title Clinical Assistant Professor Occupational Therapy (2 Positions) Department SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL THERAPY & ATHLETIC TRAINING Position Number F0460A, F1096A Job Description Old Dominion University ( ODU ) invites applications for two Clinical Assistant Professors of Occupational Therapy positions within the School of Rehabilitation Sciences in the Ellmer College of Health Sciences, appointment effective July 25, 2025. The positions are annual, 10-month full-time faculty positions, though there are additional opportunities for paid summer course instruction. Applicants will have teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities in content areas that match the applicant’s clinical expertise, scholarship interests, and the needs of the program. In conjunction with the Program Director and other faculty, they will assist in the development of curricular design and content. admissions, and strategic planning and implementation of the program and School. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring graduate students and taking an active role in department and university service and professional development. Position Type FullTime Type of Recruitment General Public Type of Recruitment General Public Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications + An earned academic or clinical doctorate in occupational therapy. + Initial certification and good standing with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. + Licensed or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities Candidates must have contemporary expertise in the field of occupational therapy, including expertise in areas complimentary to the existing faculty and previous clinical practice as an Occupational Therapist. Preferred Qualifications + Previous experience in teaching occupational therapy students and mentoring student research and capstone projects. + Familiarity with 2023 ACOTE accreditation standards and accreditation process.
