Primary duties will include teaching assigned nursing courses in the graduate and/or undergraduate programs (up to 15 semester credit hours per semester); supervising and evaluating students' progress in course work and clinical experiences; implementing and evaluating courses as needed; serving on and participating in college and university committees; advising students throughout their program of studies, as appropriate and; completing other duties as assigned by the department chair.. Duties also include developing and evaluating curriculum; developing and maintaining partnerships in the community; and engage in other activities to serve the school and the profession.. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. The Dr. F. M. Canseco School of Nursing is an accredited program by the Accreditation Commission for Nursing Education (ACEN) and is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON). Required Qualifications The successful candidate must hold a earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited institution. ABDs will be considered but must have earned a doctorate before the appointment; must hold a master's degree in nursing; a minimum of 5-years of clinical practice experience as a registered nurse; a minimum of 5-years teaching experience in nursing education; and a current unencumbered RN license to practice in the State of Texas. APRN's must meet and have all certification requirements for their specialty..
