The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Hematology-Oncology, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician Educator).
The Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) Survivorship and Supportive Care Program at CHLA is seeking a pediatric psychologist to primarily provide inpatient and outpatient mental health evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents who are experiencing psychological difficulty associated with acute or chronic illness within the CBDI. Duties may also include supervision and training of pre- and post-doctoral psychology trainees within our APA-accredited training programs. Opportunities exist for potential independent and collaborative clinical research.
Requirements for this position include a PhD or PsyD in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program and completion of an APA-accredited internship. A minimum of one year (two years preferred) of clinical postdoctoral experience providing evidence-based therapy to a pediatric psychology population suffering from acute or chronic illness is required. Previous consultation and liaison experience within a hospital setting is strongly preferred. Experience supervising trainees is preferred. Applicants must be licensed in California before appointment begins. Qualified candidates must be board certified through ABPP or be prepared to seek such certification in the future. Candidates should possess strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills. Research experience will be a significant asset. Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
The Survivorship and Supportive Care Program comprises a dynamic, growing, innovative, multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive psychosocial and biomedical supportive care and survivorship services to optimize quality of life for hematology/oncology patients through superior care and impactful research.
The annual base salary range for this position is $116,505-$417,709.
