Clinical Business Analyst - Contract - Los Angeles County, California.

Proclinical is seeking a Highly skilled Business Analyst with experience in Clinical Data Management and expertise in Operational Data Model (ODM) XML field mapping.

Primary Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in mapping ODM XML fields to our database and work closely with technical teams to define requirements for data ingestion and pipeline development.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Proven experience working with ODM XML and mapping data to databases.Strong understanding of clinical data management and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems.Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL processes, and database design.Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.Experience in collaborating with technical teams to build data ingestion pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in the pharmaceutical, clinical research, or healthcare industry.Knowledge of OpenClinica or other EDC systems is highly desirable.Familiarity with SQL and relational database concepts.Experience with AWS, MangoDB, Snowflake or cloud-based data pipelines is a plus.

The Clinical Business Analyst's responsibilities will be:

ODM XML Field Mapping:Analyze and map the structure of ODM XML files to the target database schema.Understand the relationship between clinical data elements and ensure accurate data mapping.Collaborate with clinical data managers and database administrators to verify mapping accuracy.Requirements Gathering & Documentation:Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements for data ingestion from ODM XML files into the database.Document detailed functional requirements for the ingestion process and data pipeline development.Ensure alignment between business needs and technical implementation.Pipeline & Data Flow Design:Collaborate with technical teams to define the requirements for building efficient, scalable data pipelines.Provide clarity on data transformation rules, validation, and data flow between different systems.Ensure the technical team understands the business requirements related to ODM XML structure and database integration.Stakeholder Communication:Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders, technical team to ensure smooth communication and implementation.Lead meetings to provide updates, clarify requirements, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
