ChristianaCare is searching for a PPI Clinical Category Manager to create and drive strategic sourcing initiatives in categories of spend. The PPI Clinical Category Manager will contribute to successful value-based purchasing with the focus on achieving significant cost reduction, supporting quality initiatives, establishing successful vendor partnerships, and ensuring the introduction of new technology at fair market prices. This position will act as a strategic business partner, interfacing at the Director and Executive levels of the organization, providing leadership and taking ownership of the defined spend categories. This role will also collaborate with key leadership on the development and implementation of annual and long-term strategic initiatives to achieve category goals as well as partner with the value analysis and affinity group teams to understand the needs of key stakeholders placing organizational needs at the forefront of negotiations.
Desired candidates will be:
Adept at spend review and data analytics along with creating predictive data scenarios.Adept in contract negotiations and award negotiations.Able to develop in-depth market evaluation materials for RFX processes.Ability to identify the risks associated with project and allocate them in a way that is mutually acceptable.Experience communicating with clinicians and department leaders.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and direct strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve savings goal for ChristianaCare in the assigned categories of spend.
Plan, schedule and monitor category sourcing initiatives, ensuring proper resource allocation and on-time delivery of projects.
Provides detailed analysis of proposals and vendor capabilities, negotiations and supplier selection.
Effectively communicate new savings and opportunities and initiatives with senior leadership.
Collaborates with executive leadership within the organization to create strategies for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, quality improvements while developing and implementing process efficiency improvements.
Act as a champion for business development process improvement. Serve as product, contract, and price expert for Category spend.
Resolve any issues related to products or contracts between ChristianaCare and vendors within assigned categories.
Liaison between ChristianaCare Caregivers and vendor partners.
Assist and mentor Contract Managers and Contract Specialists in the sourcing department.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years in a procurement role with 2-3 years of strategic sourcing experience
---or------Associate’s Degree and 9 years in a procurement role and 2-3 years of strategic sourcing experience.
