Under the Supervision of the Director, the Supervisor of Social Services is responsible for the coordination of client services and case conferences as well as providing direct supervision to case managers, housing specialist and vocational specialist.

 

The ideal candidate will possess experience in the fields of mental health, child welfare, child development, or other related fields. Strong working knowledge of psychodynamics, group work, case work, health systems and human and child development. Experience working with domestic violence and an understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and trauma informed care is preferred.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Interviews residents using standard case work techniques to determine suitability for residential services to assess their level of psychological functioning and make admissions decisionsConducts all initial assessments and assigns residents to a case manager and determinesMakes counseling related referrals and serves as liaison to mental health agencies as neededDevelops and maintains linkages with service providersRepresents program at community task force and conference meetingsPrepares client referral reports to supportive service providers and monitors and evaluates client progress recordsProvides clinical supervision and audits charts to ensure that notes are completed in a timely fashion by clinical staffSupervise program in Director’s absenceAttends all scheduled meetings and training sessionsThe candidate should be able to read d documents for analytical purposesWorking knowledge of AWARDS, CARES, SORTS systemsEnglish and Spanish speaking is a plus Qualifications Master’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in social work or related fieldLMSW or LMHC preferred
