The Clinical Coordinator position is responsible for developing, implementing and continuous monitoring and oversight of the Wound Care Program and the Wound Care Staff. This position is responsible for training registered nurses to be wound champions;, to remain abreast of best practices for wound care; and educate the PCA’s in their role in pressure ulcer prevention. Additional responsibilities include providing expertise in the coordination and delivery of patient care, obtaining prevalence and incidence data, keeping nurse management abreast of all occurrences in their department as well as reporting to risk management. This position will be patient advocates in the prevention/elimination of pressure ulcers.

QualificationsEducation/Training/Experience
BSN required, Advanced Degree preferred
Extensive work experience in wound care setting (minimum 3 years) preferred
Minimum three continuous years of acute care experience with adult patients preferred
Ability to collect and report quality data
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Licenses/Certifications
Current CA Registered Nurse license
Current BLS-HCP card (through AHA) required
Current wound care certification through the WOCNCB (CWOCN, CWON, CWCN), AAWM (CWS), or NAWC (WCC)
