Hours: Monday-Friday/Four-10 hour shifts with varied start and stop times.
Summary:
Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary health team and is responsible for managing the Structural Heart Program (including LAAO and TAVR) and ensuring its implementation. Actively participates in patient and family teaching. The Structural Heart Coordinator conducts the review of retrospective diagnostic studies to identify specific opportunities for improvement overseeing that every patient is offered the appropriate services provided by Catholic Health and that all healthcare providers have understanding about the Structural Heart Program.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
+ Graduate of an accredited RN program, MSN in Nurse Practitioner required, specialty area of Adult Acute Care preferred
+ Current NP license in the State of New York required
+ BCLS validation
+ ACLS validation
OR
+ Graduate of an approved NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants), CAHEA (Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA)
+ BCLS validation
+ ACLS validation
EXPERIENCE
+ Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in acute cardiac care preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
+ Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
+ Demonstrated strength in managing complex situations, teaching, systems thinking, and situational analysis
+ Judgment and ability to analyze, organize, delegate, and make decisions; ability to coordinate response to patient care needs and other priorities
+ Ability to collect, manage, and/or interpret data and interpret research findings in area of specialization
+ Expertise in program development, implementation, and evaluation
+ Clinical expertise with specialty patient population
+ Familiar with department's specialized computer systems
+ Ability to work well under periodic stressful conditions brought about by heavy workload, deadlines, and emergency situations
