Clinical Data Manager I

Summary:

The Clinical Data Manager I manages all aspects of clinical data. This individual interprets, abstracts, and submits comprehensive, accurate data relating to study subjects by abstracting data as required by the study protocol and/or clinical trial sponsor, verifies and updates all information compiled and enter data into the application in a timely manner, and performs coding of adverse events or other designed medical diagnosis, injury, and/or procedures as directed by protocol, as required. This individual Acts as a resource for other research staff evaluating study-related data.

Qualifications:

This position requires an individual with a combination of education and experience from which a sound foundation of medical terminology and understanding of clinical practice can be acquired. Therefore, this position requires one of the following:

BSN with 5+ years of clinical healthcare experience

OR

Master’s degree in appropriate field with 3+ years of relevant clinical healthcare experience or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated clinical healthcare experience from which strongly comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Position requires an individual with:

Computer proficiency in word processing, Excel, and database systems.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to exercise independent judgment with strong analytical capabilities.

Flexibility and adaptability to change.

Excellent interpersonal and oral, written, and electronic interpersonal communication skills.

Knowledge of research terminology, and governmental rules and regulations preferred.

Knowledge and understanding of operational, logistical and administrative requirements of research studies preferred.

Data and/or abstracting experience required.

Experience as a Health Information Technician preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

Licensed for clinical practice (e.g., RN or allied health) preferred.
