Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the clinical dietitian are comprehensive nutrition assessments to create individual nutrition plans of care.  Nutrition assessments are to be revised as needed, per facility protocol and at least every quarter. Completes diet consults and provides nutrition assessment information at interdisciplinary care meetings (care conferences, weight and skin, quality assurance). Implements medical nutrition therapy to maintain or improve nutritional status and revises plans of care for continued improvement. Provides diet and nutrition related education for patients and/or families to improve medical nutrition therapy and diet adherence. The incumbent is to have general knowledge of food service operations and sanitation. Clinical dietitians will report to the food service manager, nurse manager and administrator. 


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum one year experience as a Registered Dietitian. New Grads will be considered on a case by case basis. Holds a Bachelor's or higher degree granted by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States with completion of the academic requirements of a program in nutrition or dietetics accredited by an appropriate organization recognized for this purposeHas completed at least 900 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a registered dietitian or nutritional professionalValid registration as a Registered Dietitian

Preferred Requirements:

Working experience in an acute care hospitalExperience in a skilled nursing facilityExperience in safety and sanitationExperience with Cerner EMR and/or CBORD
