Position Summary: Monitors nutritional care, manages physician ordered therapeutic diets and provides nutritional education to patients. Directs, supervises and coordinates diet office activities. Requests patient food preferences and prepares patient diets on a daily basis. + Attends health care team meetings regularly to discuss patient care needs. + Educates patients on long term nutritional care through individual discussions, group classes and community speaking engagements. + Writes modified diets and coordinates diet adaptations with house menus. Charts diets in medical records. + Serves as an educational resource to nursing and medical personnel. + Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. + Maintains department records, reports and files as required. + Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. + Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: One (1) year ADA approved experience or MS Nutrition plus six (6) months ADA approved experience Licensure Requirement: Registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
