Responsible for adequacy and appropriateness of oral, enteral, and parenteral nutritional support of all patients on assigned units. Screens, assesses, instructs and monitors patients according to established standards of care. May occasionally require provision of individualized nutritional assessment, counseling, and follow-up for outpatients. Assists in the development and implementation of nutrition education programs for hospital staff and the community which may include written articles, public speaking, cooking classes, grocery store tours, etc. Has direct care with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school with an American Dietetic Association (ADA) approved curriculum required. Completion of internship or qualifying experiences previously approved by the ADA required. Registered Dietitian by the ADA or registry eligible required. Registry eligible candidates must obtain registration within 12 months from date of hire. Experience in acute care medical facility with responsibilities for assessing and teaching of normal and modified nutrition preferred. Must be innovative, self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
