Clinical Dietitian - Maternal Fetal Medicine - Full Time
As the Medical Nutrition Therapist of Maternal Fetal Medicine: Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan and implement nutrition education to pregnant women. ACCOUNTABILITIES *All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise* 1. Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team 2. Serves as a case manager for assigned patients 3. Collaborates with patients and other healthcare providers to improve blood sugars to improve maternal and fetal outcomes 4. Oversees blood glucose management for pregnant women in the diabetes program 5. Provides MNT and individualized nutrition plans for pregnant women specific to their goals and current medical conditions 6. Provides DSMT including utilizing various blood glucose monitoring techniques (fingersticks using blood glucose monitor, insulin pumps) 7. Provides a variety of educational materials and approaches to individualize Medical Nutrition Therapy to accommodate any patient barriers to learning. 8. Communicates with patients using various platforms including face to face counseling, telehealth video conferencing, and chat platform through Epic EMR 9. Completes patient care documentation utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine format. 10. Assists with outcome data collection to meet ADA Recognition requirements. 11. Participates in staff and advisory committee meetings as appropriate. 12. Participates in team quality improvement initiatives. 13. Adheres to hospital and department compliance plan: assists with documentation auditing. 14. Conducts or assists with as needed: staff orientation, annual competency training programs and student preceptorships. 15. Participates in planning, researching and implementation of patient education curriculum for Maternal Fetal Medicine services to meet regulatory guidelines. Updates as needed 16. Performs other job duties, as assigned Education: Master’s degree after 01/01/2024 or Bachelor’s degree in related field. Skills: Must be trained in CPR and First Aid, Computer skills: competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Years of Experience: One year of experience is preferred, but new graduates would be considered. License: Must be Licensed in the State of Ohio and maintain National Registration. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Master’s Degree preferred. Years of Experience: One year of experience is preferred, but new graduates would be considered. Experience: working with diabetes in pregnancy.
