SUMMARY
To provide for the nutritional care for all patients within the scope of responsibility and act as consultant to other health care professionals in determining the best nutritional care options for patients.

ATTRIBUTES
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field
Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) within six 6 months of hire
One (1) year experience in a Healthcare facility
Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluation. Evaluates and interprets data obtained from the patient and/or medical record, including anthropometric and laboratory information, medications, physician orders and from nutrition and medical histories. Analyzes subjective and objective information to define nutrition problems, goals and interventions to complete a comprehensive nutrition assessment. Evaluates the appropriateness of nutrition support, and the effectiveness of nutrition care plans, making necessary recommendations in a timely manner.
Communication. Educates both the patient and family as needed, provides nutrition counseling on an individual basis or in a group setting. Facilitates the development of realistic nutritional and lifestyle goals. Communicates with health care team, including physicians and other providers regarding patient plan of nutritional care. Make recommendations, requiring nutritional expertise, to all members of the medical team
Assessment. Conducts and participates in quality assurance programs ensuring that standards and quality initiatives are met.

RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist - Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

14626The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
