Title: Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist

Facility: Remote

 

Responsibilities:

Professional Registered Nurse with sound clinical knowledge and strong critical thinking skills.This position is accountable for the integrity and accuracy of advanced practice clinical documentation through concurrent interaction with providers and other members of the healthcare team. Ensures clinical documentation integrity through proficient delivery of the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program workflows, including obtaining appropriate provider diagnoses documentation into the medical record in order to achieve legitimate code assignment and accurate reporting of the patient's condition and care provided. Contributes to process improvement efforts by designing, developing, implementing and supporting the CDI programs reporting and analytics. Collaborates with the physician advisor to achieve CDI program goals and accurate documentation representation of medical necessity for appropriate patient status. Promotes the capture of clinical severity to support the level of service rendered to relevant patient populations. The CDI Specialist is required to have clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes with broad clinical experience in an inpatient setting.Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification & Licensure:

Education:

Required – Associates in NursingPreferred – Bachelor’s In NursingPreferred – Bachelor’s in Business AdministrationPreferred – Bachelor’s Hospital Management

 

Experience:

Required – 5 years clinical experience in an acute care settingPreferred – 2 years clinical documentationPrevious experience in CDI is strongly preferred
