Job Summary

Join a Leading Edge in Healthcare Education: The MGH Institute of Health Professions invites dynamic professionals to apply for the pivotal role of Clinical Education Placement and Systems Associate. This position is integral to the seamless operation of our esteemed Clinical Education Programs within the Departments of Genetic Counseling and Communication Sciences and Disorders. As an associate, you will leverage your expertise in administrative processes to enhance the educational experiences of future healthcare leaders, ensuring that our programs remain at the forefront of clinical education innovation.


 

Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:

50%: Data Management/Technology:

Assist the Directors of Clinical Education (DCE) and faculty providing onsite clinical education with operations of both internal and external clinical education to include but not be limited to visit scheduling, tracking of completed documentation, monitoring of student requirements (e.g. CPR, immunizations, etc.), and other duties as needed.Assume leadership in the management of comprehensive databases related to clinical sites and clinical education faculty, student clinical experiences.Develop and implement technology solutions for clinical education-related needs and provide user training as indicated.Collaborate with the DCEs and affiliations to confirm contracts and initiate contracts for new clinical sites as needed (i.e. new internship placement sites and annually completing contracts for externship sites).Review and manage student files, communication, and needs surrounding licensure and certification approvals each semester as well as both pre and post-graduation.

25%: Program Evaluation

Assist DCEs with clinical education outcomes evaluation processes.Collaborate with DCEs to provide analysis of student and clinical site-related data and clinical education program outcomes.Ensure ongoing analysis/reporting of clinical site participation to inform team decisions about ongoing site development needs.Manage accreditation standards reporting to assure compliance.Collaborate with DCE/faculty to assess and address professional development needs of clinical faculty to support clinical education roles.Work with Program Directors to collect, manage, and evaluate program data, including board certification data, required for Accreditation.

15%: Communication

Assume leadership in communication with clinical faculty and other clinical facility personnel regarding clinical education placement planning, and other administrative functions for the clinical education program.Serve as a primary point of contact for new site development and ongoing communication with clinical sites.Serve as primary point of contact with IHP departments to support clinical education operations.

10%: Department Operations

Plan and support department operations and events as well as other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Provide administrative support and leadership for select department committees and special projects.Assume responsibility for the department in the event of the absence or extended absence of the Program Manager.

EDUCATION

Baccalaureate degree or equivalent.Two years of business/office training or related comparable work experience.Experience in a student-related setting preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES

Administrative Skills - Exceptional organizational and office systems skills. Must be self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently and effectively in a multi-task environment. Must be able to work on several projects simultaneously and maintain responsibility for completion including accuracy and meeting deadlines. Able to problem-solve and take initiative. Must be able to compile and present coherent written reports that summarize data. Able to handle confidential information with discretion. 

Communication Skills - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including via email and virtual. Able to present information and data in a clear manner to individuals and groups.

Technical Skills - Must have an excellent working knowledge of the entire Microsoft suite, including the ability to analyze and develop database applications using Access and Excel.

MGH Institute of Health Professions is a graduate school in Boston that provides entry-level and post-professional programs in Nursing, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Genetic Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies.
