Designs and conducts educational programs for nursing staff. Coordinates orientation programs for new staff members, develops programs to keep existing staff up-to-date, and acts as general resource for nursing personnel. Leads and directs the work of others. Organizes and oversees regulatory requirements for the Chest Pain and Stroke Programs. Responsible for the operations of these programs at all times including maintaining staff competencies and educational requirements. Serves as liaison between hospital and regulatory agencies and between staff and physicians related to the Chest Pain and Stroke programs. Available to staff for problem solving and supervisory issues related to the Chest Pain and Stroke programs. Responsible for promoting chest pain and stroke care based on evidence based clinical practice guidelines. Coordinates day to day collaboration with multi-disciplinary services related to chest pain and stroke care. Provides formal and informal education for professional, technical and ancillary personnel. Coordinates and conducts community education programs related to prevention and early recognition of heart attack and stroke.
Education: Associates degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
License/Certification: Alabama RN License
Experience: 5 years nursing experience
