Now Hiring: Clinical Education Specialist (EMT)
JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction, coordinates daily activities related to the Clinical Education Services program for AMR Tucson, AZA Sierra Vista and Safford Lifeline Ambulance. Represents GMR to local committees, medical and training institutions, and other related agencies as needed. Responsible for collaborating to create, update , implement and track AMR clinical education activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
• Assist in the development of an orientation program and a system of continuing education
• Actively participate in and/or develop a process for the evaluation and/or selection of medical equipment and supplies
• Assist in the education process to include identifying course objectives, proctoring examinations, and selecting manuals for use as lesson plans
• Conduct new hire orientation classes, instructor certification courses, and other continuing education courses as allowed by level of certification
• Participate in clinical education aspects of problem resolution
• Track and review events in response to complaints and/or compliments relating to medical performance.
• Assists with conducting clinical education quality assurance investigations immediately upon receiving information regarding a clinical protocol or standard of care violation.•Track and maintain employee certifications and vaccinations
• Participate in GMR’s Clinical Quality Improvement Program activities
• Represent AMR with local EMS education programs and assure integration with internship and preceptor needs
• Serve as a clinical education resource for field and management personnel
• Oversee clinical education aspects of field performance through ongoing education initiatives and field training
• Assist with conducting clinical education call reviews and investigations
• Work actively within the clinical education team, operations, and other entities to promote clinical excellence
• Schedule continuing education programs pertinent to field education needs
• Work with other CES Specialists to ensure standardization of CES programs throughout the service areas
QUALIFICATIONS
Credentials/Licenses/Certifications: Current Arizona State Certification as an EMT.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years experience as an EMT in a busy 911 or 911/IFT hybrid program.Documented experience in an instructor, preceptor, or FTO roleCompletion of EMS Instructor Course Level I, preferredBLS instructor certification, preferredEVOC instructor certification, preferred
Skills:
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic Microsoft knowledge
