The Clinical Educator, Behavioral Health, will be responsible for the oversight of the Center for Professional Development, Innovation, and Research s (CPDIR) behavioral health course offerings, which includes but is not limited to Foundations of Behavioral Health Nursing. The educator will serve as the behavioral health nursing subject-matter expert for the CPDIR team, and will assist with other courses and projects as needed, including monthly regional nursing and ancillary staff orientations. The Clinical Educator, Behavioral Health, should have a minimum of 3 years' clinical nursing experience in a behavioral health setting. The role can be based in either Livingston or Oceanport with the expectation of traveling throughout the system for courses as needed.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required; a Master's Degree in Nursing or closely related field is preferred.A current New Jersey Nursing License or an approved compact license is required. A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of behavioral health nursing experience is required.A Board Certification in the nursing specialty is preferred.Key Responsibilities:
Designs, implements, and evaluates the Foundations Behavioral Health Nursing course, ensuring successful onboarding for new to practice and specialty nurses.Partner with simulation teams to develop and deliver high-fidelity, scenario-based pediatric simulation trainings that replicate real-world clinical situations. Evaluate the effectiveness of these simulation trainings through participant feedback, performance metrics, and outcome measures, adjusting curriculum to address gaps in clinical education.Lead behavioral health-specific segments of regional nursing and ancillary staff orientations, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and the latest clinical standards in pediatric care.Serves as a subject-matter expert on behavioral health for other courses offered by CPDIR, including Foundation of Emergency and Critical Care Nursing coursesAct as a liaison between the CPDIR and behavioral health unit leaders across RWJBarnabas Health to identify staff development needs and implement relevant professional development opportunities.Support research initiatives within behavioral healthcare and contribute to the development of innovative teaching methods or tools that enhance pediatric nursing education.Plan and oversee behavioral health nursing workshops, seminars, and continuing education courses, ensuring that all pediatric nursing staff meet credentialing and licensure requirements.Works closely with Clinical Educator, De-escalation and Allied Health on de-escalation, restraint, and seclusion training program offerings throughout the system.Assist with other CPDIR courses, projects, and initiatives as needed.Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
