Clinical Engineer I – Cybersecurity

As a Clinical Engineer, you will organize and maintain technical operations and evaluate and purchase outside services, essential supplies and repair parts of biomedical equipment.  

A caregiver in this position works 7:30am – 4:00pm.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide engineering support, preventative maintenance, evaluation of equipment, computer software and instrumentation for Cleveland Clinic. 

Maintain documentation of equipment, inventory, maintenance agreement, service logs, and project work in the CMMS platform. 

Perform incoming inspections of new equipment and complete documentation for CMMS databases. 

Create, modify or customize systems, components and mountings to support clinical operations. 

Provide on-the-job cross training to fellow technicians for devices they are knowledgeable with. 

Lead projects and initiatives within and assigned work group. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or biomedical engineering.  

Ability to function in a technical and administrative capacity.  

Knowledge of complex electronic, pneumatic or mechanical systems related to the assigned complex medical system.  

In-depth knowledge of engineering theory and principles related to the assigned complex medical system.  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Prior clinical engineering experience.

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands include ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Sufficient manual dexterity to use tools and work on small mechanical parts.Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment.
