A Clinical Engineering (CE) Technician II participates in equipment planning, research, support and departmental projects and installs, maintains and repairs medical equipment at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus.   


A caregiver in this position works days + calls, 8:00am—5:00pm. 


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Analyze system failures of medical imaging systems and performs repairs in accordance to manufacturer protocol within time standards set by service level agreements.

Perform preventive maintenance on complex medical systems and develops preventive maintenance procedures based on site specific requirements incorporating usage and other performance metrics.

Provide on the job cross training to fellow technicians for devices they are trained on and act an enterprise resource providing technical expertise on the assigned imaging equipment.

Perform incoming inspections of new equipment and completes documentation for CMMS database.


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology OR additional years of relevant work experience OR relevant military training may substitute the degree.

Five years of experience working with X-ray generating equipment, interventional radiology, Linear Accelerators, CT scanners, MRI machines, or Nuclear Medical imaging equipment, or other similar complex medical systems.
