Job Overview:
Provides oversight and management of facility clinical information technology strategies and ensures alignment of clinical goals within the RWJBarnabas Health System. This position serves to provide clinical leadership, resolve and direct education/workflow issues on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
Required:
2-5 years' nursing informatics or super userExperience in the use of EPICExcellent communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office products and Adobe CaptivateMay travel to other sites as needed.
Preferred:
Bachelor s degree in Nursing preferredCertifications and Licenses Required:
Current NJ Registered Nursing LicenseScheduling Requirements:
May travel to other sites as neededEssential Functions:
Participates in the implementation, upgrading, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical information systems. Activities may include data collection, cataloguing of gathered information, documentation of processes, and communication with members of IT and clinical services.Maintains open communication among clinical user groups to determine issues or problem areas and facilitates resolutions. Coordinates and provides for communication among users, IT, nursing, and other clinical services.Demonstrates understanding of maintaining security, confidentiality, and integrity of employee, patient, family, and other medical information.Demonstrates that patient, employee, and visitor safety is a key and fundamental principle.Provides proactive user support including, but not limited to, training and education. Assists in the evaluation and development of training and in-service programs as required.Participates in and promotes performance improvement and nursing research activities. Acts as a role model for professional practice. This includes patient advocacy, positive guest and peer relations, and ethical conduct.Demonstrates exemplary communication skills.Maintains current knowledge and skills in specialty area. Maintains nursing care competency in the clinical area through direct patient care as determined by nursing leadership. Contributes to safe, proficient, cost-effective nursing care.Evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs, making modifications as necessary to meet educational needs.Participates in own professional development by addressing learning needs and completing performance self-evaluation Collaborates with other nursing leadership, Nursing Directors, CNS s, and Head Nurses, in evaluating the learning process of nursing division staff.Other Duties:
