Job Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for the clinical instruction of students in the nursing education program and laboratory teaching activities in assigned course; serves as a clinical expert in their specialty area. Actively supports an outcomes-based learning centered culture through continued professional development for improvement of self and the college in keeping with the College’s learning-centered values and goals. Reports to and operates under the direction and supervision of the Department Chair.
Job Requirements:
Master's Degree in Nursing
2-3 years of experience
Registered Nurse
Provide evidence of recognized professional competence working knowledge of the nursing process
2-3 years experience Clinical Nursing Clinical faculty will have at least 24months of sufficient diversified professional nursing experience to support effective teaching
Job Responsibilities:
Participates in the implementation of the course. Applies course concepts to clinical experiences. Coordinates learning experiences with appropriate clinical staff. Consults with Department Chair. Attends course meetings. Facilitates the activities of the skills lab. Holds office hours.
Implements clinical instruction facilitating student attainment of expected clinical behaviors. Plans clinical experiences to assist students to achieve course objectives. Supervises students in their implementation of care. Confers with students regarding progress according to established course requirements. Acts as a role model when facilitating student learning. assist students to relate theory to clinical.
Evaluates student achievement of expected learning behaviors. Provides verbal/written feedback. Implements ongoing assessment of student learning.
Supports College Operations and College Goals. Supports AASN Program Philosophy, Organizing Framework and Program Goals.
