The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking outstanding applicants to fill a Physician Assistant position in the Division of Rheumatology. The division provides clinical services at the USC Health Sciences Campus (HSC), which includes the Keck University Hospital of USC and the Kenneth Norris Cancer Hospital. The Rheumatology Division provides inpatient consultative services that include General, rheumatologic Diseases The PA, under the direction of a Rheumatology Attending, assists in the care of patients with a variety of rheumatologic diseases. The PA will also assist other personnel to ensure high quality delivery of patient care and services to this patient population. He/She will medically manage patients and dictates clinic notes in the inpatient and ambulatory setting. Orders medications, diagnostic tests, and treatment related to their illnesses and track results timely. Maintains records in Keckcare (Cerner) accordingly. Responsible for routine medical management review of patients with collaborating physician(s). Be available to meet with hospitalized patients for this population as needed. Acts as a liaison between patient(s) and multiple medical/surgical disciplines involved in patient care; communicates plan of care with referring physicians and works to maintain and establish relationships with referring physicians
The annual base salary range for this position is 125,000-$175,000. Minimum Field of Expertise/Required License and Certification: Clinical nursing experience. Applicants must have a valid and current CA PA license, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. A fire and safety certification is required. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
