**40561BR** **Extended Job Title:** Clinical Instructor or higher Graduate Program **Org Level 1:** Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso **Position Description:** Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit. **Requisition ID:** 40561BR **Travel Required:** None **Major/Essential Functions:** + Provides academic and clinical instruction within the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing. + Plans, coordinates, and conducts classroom and clinical experiences for students. + Reports directly to programmatic assistant dean, associate dean or the dean of the school of nursing. + Maintains academic standards, as established by the school and the university. + Teaches students in the clinical, laboratory, and classroom settings. + Assumes responsibility for and/or participates in the planning and organization of courses to which assigned. + Provides academic advising/counseling to assigned students. + Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of school, program, course, and student activities. + Incorporates new knowledge and techniques in clinical, classroom, and laboratory teaching. + Plans professional development activities for self, such as continuing education offerings, workshops, professional meetings, etc. and participates in programs, school and university committees, and in other activities associated with professional status. + Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties. + Maintains membership in and participates in professional associations by serving on local/state committees of professional organizations. + Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship. + Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures. + Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission. + Displays a scholarly orientation to the assumption of the responsibilities of a university faculty member as defined in the Guidelines for Qualification of Faculty Appointment Rank. + Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso. + Performs other duties, as required. **Grant Funded?:** No **Minimum Hire Rate:** salary commensurate with related education, experience and/or skills **Pay Basis:** Monthly **Work Location:** El Paso **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: + Certification (CNML, NE-BC, NEA-BC, CENP). + Two years of teaching experience or mentoring graduate students for the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or higher. + Demonstrates scholarship in teaching (case studies, integration of evidence into teaching, develops new teaching methods, creates clinical simulations, etc.). **Campus:** HSC - El Paso **Department:** Hunt SON Admin Elp **Job Type:** Part Time **Pay Statement:** Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
