Summary:
The Clinical Nursing Resource and Intake Coordinator evaluates all requests for inpatient admission to the inpatient behavioral health unit, working collaboratively with the medical director to determine admission status. The population served is based on the scope of services for the department. The responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to maintaining all daily staffing schedules for identified patient care units, coordinating staffing with each unit manager and maintaining the electronic timekeeping system and nursing schedules into the computer system.
Responsibilities:
Reviews and evaluates all requests for admission to the Behavioral Health Unit, including referral source and intake data, and submitting cases to the Medical Director for ultimate disposition.
Develops and maintains strategies for managing wait lists and ensuring maximum access to inpatient beds for appropriate patients.
Collects and trends data related to inquiries, admitted patients, non-admitted patients referral sources, and bed utilization as well as referral source satisfaction for the Behavioral Health Unit.
Completes and enters nursing unit staffing schedules into the Electronic Medical Record.
Completes daily and weekly staffing schedules for all units and maintains copies in all nursing units as identified below.
Receives and reviews time off requests for approval based on unit needs, coordinating with unit managers to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Coordinates staffing coverage for change in staffing needs based upon acuity, census, and staffing patterns. Completes daily, weekly, and the development of individual schedules for General Medicine 1/PCU, Senior Behavioral Health Unit, the Emergency Department and the Nursing Supervisors.
Maintains database and statistical timekeeping records for multiple nursing units, requiring daily and weekly updates to ensure timecard system is correct and updated.

Other Information:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of one to three years experience in an administrative hospital setting or similar role.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
