Clinical IT Service Portfolio Manager
Title: Clinical IT Service Portfolio Manager Location: Midtown Org Unit: Office of Service Portfolio Management Work Days: Monday - Friday Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status: Exempt Salary Range: $143,000.00 - $160,000.00 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices **Position Summary** The Clinical IT Service Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Clinical IT service portfolio as it relates to WCM’s involvement, including all projects and operational activities associated with the portfolio’s services. The role will also work with NYP and Columbia to lead the creation and managing of processes used to identify, select, and prioritize projects that support the services within the portfolio. They will work closely with WCM Service Owners to identify and manage cross-project-and-service risks and issues, while also mapping all dependencies. They will work closely with our Liaison and Customer Experience teams to establish the “Voice of the Customer” and ensure it is being incorporated in all aspects of service and clinical service portfolio management including project prioritization, incident and request response/support, and overall portfolio decision making. The Clinical IT Service Portfolio Manager will work with NYP and Columbia lead the development of portfolio metrics that will be used to inform IT leadership of portfolio performance. They will work closely with Project Managers to gather information on the projects within their portfolio and use this data to identify portfolio level risks and issues along with mitigation plans. Lastly, the Clinical Service Portfolio Manager will be responsible for creating a comprehensive portfolio management governance process in conjunction with NYP and Columbia. **Job Responsibilities** + Responsible for creating a comprehensive portfolio management governance process including the prioritization, reporting, and performance tracking of the portfolio and all projects within it. + Administers and facilitates the portfolio management process including creating oversight documentation such as status reports and performance metrics and periodic reviews of the services and projects within the portfolio. + Identifies and analyzes risks and impact to portfolio changes including the intake of new projects, existing projects issues, resource allocation changes, and new services. + Monitors projects and operational work associated to the services within the portfolio and provides periodic updates to IT leadership on progress and performance. + Monitors and manages resource utilization against prioritized projects and other portfolio work. + Works with Customer Experience and Liaison team to ensure the “voice of the customer” is accounted for when making portfolio decisions or prioritizing the work within it + Identifies and maps cross project/service dependencies and impacts. + Facilitates and provides inputs on portfolio related decisions and approvals. + Translates portfolio changes, decisions, and approvals into action-based plans and oversees their execution. + Clearly and effectively communicate the status and health of the portfolio to all stakeholders. **Education** + Bachelor's Degree in related field **Experience** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline with an Information Technology focus. + Master’s degree in related field is highly desired. + 7+ years of hands-on IT Project or Portfolio Management experience. + Sufficient technical background to: + Understand the technologies and technical issues involved with IT projects. + Manage and understand the project management life cycle including Waterfall and Agile methodologies. + Anticipate, identify, and manage resolutions of critical obstacles + Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent + Experience in Higher Education or Healthcare + Working knowledge of ITIL + Working knowledge of PMBOK + Experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO) + Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience + Data analysis and visualization knowledge **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey vision, mission, goals, status, themes, and issues to both business and IT audiences. + Strong presentation skills with the ability provide concise and complex information that is clear and valuable towards decision making. + Strong persuasion and influence capabilities. + Promotes and maintains a favorable work environment, advocating for the projects to which are assigned and the business and strategic goals they are intended to meet. + Ability to work under tight deadlines while providing high-quality work. + Negotiation and conflict resolution skills; ability to create an open environment where conflicts as to portfolio priorities decisions can be aired and resolved in an objective manner. + Ability to create and deliver executive-level summary reports and presentations. **Licenses and Certifications** **Working Conditions/Physical Demands** Weill Cornell Medicine is an equal opportunity employer.
