Join a dedicated team working on infectious disease testing and public health response. As a Lab Specialist, you'll perform PCR-based testing, interpret results, and support health initiatives. If you're certified as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or in Public Health Microbiology (PHM) and have experience running PCR tests, apply today to make an impact in public health! Pay: $60-$62/hr **Responsibilities:** + Perform laboratory testing for infectious diseases, including interpreting clinical laboratory results, trends, and comparisons. + Utilize droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) or RT-PCR as instructed. + Operate and maintain laboratory equipment. + Record and analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and detail. + Participate in quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures. + Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, especially for H5N1 and other subtyping. + Effectively communicate test results to physicians, healthcare professionals, and internal partners. + Assist in developing and implementing new laboratory procedures. + Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, ensuring preventative maintenance is conducted. + Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory area. + Monitor inventory levels and order lab supplies as directed. + Provide training and supervision for lab assistants or interns. **Required Qualifications:** + Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) certification or Public Health Microbiology (PHM) certification. + Experience running droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) or RT-PCR. + Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. + Strong attention to detail and good communication skills. + Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel). + BS-level education or equivalent experience. **Experience Requirements:** + 1+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory or public health laboratory setting.
