**Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA)** **Clinical Laboratory Assistant** **- Full Time – Day Shift** _Texas Health Arlington Memorial’s Laboratory department is looking for a top skilled Clinical Laboratory Assistant. Diploma or Equivalent required · Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required **Experience** · Hospital experience as a phlebotomist preferred and · Completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy preferred **Licenses and Certifications** · PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician Upon Hire Preferred **What You Will Do** · For those entities performing phlebotomy; employee follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient · Follows laboratory procedures for handling, and processing in a manner which is appropriate and follows safety guidelines · Follows laboratory procedures for handling unacceptable specimens · Follows established laboratory test procedures · Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity · Reports and evaluates test results · Facilitates workflow process · Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care · Processes specimens · Demonstrates ability to perform specimen processing protocols · Participates in orientation and training of students, volunteers, new employees, and observers · Maintains commitment to profession by attending continuing education sessions. (ex.
