**Clinical Laboratory Scientist** Clinical Los Angeles County, CA, US Pay Rate Low: 37 | Pay Rate High: 37 + Added - 22/04/2025 Apply for Job **Location:** Los Angeles County, CA **Schedule:** Morning Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) **Contract** _(possible hire)_ **Pay: Up to 37** /hr **Position Overview:** The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) prepares biological specimens for analysis and performs clinical laboratory procedures of waived, moderate, or high complexity. All procedures are conducted in compliance with established SOPs and regulatory standards including FACT, AABB, ACHI, CAP, FDA, and The Joint Commission. **Essential Responsibilities:** + Accurately prepares and processes biological specimens using universal precautions. + Performs manual, semi-automated, and automated laboratory tests in compliance with established protocols and within specified turnaround times. + Reviews and validates normal and critical test results for accuracy and completeness prior to release. + Reports unusual findings or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly. + Conducts quality control procedures including calibrations, preventive maintenance, and control reviews; documents results appropriately. + Participates in the laboratory’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs. + Operates and maintains standard laboratory equipment; ensures data entry is complete and accurate. + Prepares reagents, culture media, and stains in accordance with standard laboratory formulas. + Attends staff meetings and institutional safety/training sessions as required. + Cross-trains across other sections of the department to ensure flexible coverage as needed. **Qualifications:** **Education:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science. **Licensure/Certifications:** + **_Required: Clinical Chemistry Scientist (CCS) License (California)_** + **Preferred:** Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License (California) **Experience:** + Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical laboratory experience, including work in chemistry. _This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
