Job Description
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will be a generalist responsible for processing a variety of samples. The role involves handling high volumes of specialty samples during the AM shift and a diverse range of general samples during the PM shift.
ResponsibilitiesProcess a wide range of clinical laboratory samples.Handle specialty samples during the AM shift.Manage general samples during the PM shift.Collaborate with hospital staff for patient admissions and discharges.Utilize Cerner Millennium for laboratory information management.Ensure compliance with hospital and laboratory protocols.Essential SkillsExperience in Hematology, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Blood Bank.Proficiency in clinical laboratory testing.Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.National Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.BLS certification from AHA.Willingness to work rotating weekends.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Cerner Millennium.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.Work Environment
The shift for this position is from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with a 5x8 schedule and rotating weekends. The PM shift team consists of three Clinical Laboratory Scientists, two to three Lab Assistants, and one lead on the bench. The culture is supportive and collaborative, with daily huddles, BBQs, fun activities, and charity events. The work environment can be stressful, but it is generally more relaxed at night compared to the day shift.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00
