ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Assist the Director with managing clinic staff on day-to-day operation.
· Act as a leader in the area of service and is a role model to other employees.
· Facilitate department huddles if applicable.
· Assist in identifying and providing guidance in resolving operational issues and communication with the Director.
· Direct patient flow throughout the clinic.
· Coordinate general front office activities including but not limited to; registration, TOS collections, verification of benefits, appointment scheduling, daily billing, daily reconciliations, and other related duties.
· Responsible for overseeing and adhering to requirements for regulatory requirements and governmental regulations in area of service.
· Assist the Director to ensure appropriate staffing coverage at all times.
· Assist the Director to facilitate training of new hires and other training initiatives.
· Provide direction and support to clinical staff as requested.
· Maintain and enhance rapport with referral sources.
· Process, categorize and prioritize incoming/outgoing mail, assist with form completion for insulin pumps and other related education forms.
· Contact insurance companies to inquire about services and coverage when needed.
· Assist with tracking policy coverage resources related to diabetes education.
· Ensure equipment remains in working order, helps with supplies inventory, completes necessary logs or paperwork for service area.
· Coordinate webinars and education events as requested.
· Assist with marketing efforts.
· Participate in performance improvement projects as requested.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft software (Office, Word, Excel) and electronic databases is required.
· Two years office experience required.
· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
· Positive customer service skills, multi-tasking abilities, typing and computer skills are essential.
· Demonstrates commitment to customer service and professional communication with patients, families, medical staff, colleagues, vendors and other departments.
· Demonstrates knowledge and use of professional spoken and written word through proper business English.
· Demonstrates proofreading, editing and basic math skills
· Medical terminology knowledge desirable.
