Clinical Lecturer

Iona University’s Honors Program, in partnership with Iona’s Philosophy Department, invites applications for a renewable, full-time, clinical lecturer position to begin in Fall 2025. This is a dual appointment in the Honors Program and the Philosophy Department. Responsibilities include teaching 12 credits per term (6 in Honors and 6 in Philosophy).

Candidates should have broad expertise in the humanities, exhibit excellence as teacher-scholars, and specialize in Philosophy of Race, broadly construed. We welcome applicants with the following teaching and research interests: decolonial philosophy, history of philosophy with an emphasis on racism, epistemic injustice with an emphasis in racial injustice, indigenous philosophy, Latinx philosophy, or Africana philosophy. A successful candidate should also be experienced in teaching introductory level Moral Philosophy. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have teaching and research experience in Honors and/or interdisciplinary Humanities curricula.  Preferred candidates will also have a demonstrated record of incorporating experiential teaching pedagogy and developing co-curricular student engagement opportunities.

Completion of all requirements for a Ph.D. in Philosophy, or in a closely related field, is required by the start of employment.
